Look at the photo carefully. You can see where the end closing cap has been welded on. Most frames I find have had this done.

That be an early 1938 frame. If you look at the grease zerk on the brake cross tube it is to the outside. 1936 and 1937 have it in close by the seat post.

I'll have to start writing this stuff down, can't remember any more and just found out the hard way not to trust computors! Hard drive crashed and I lost 20 yrs of photo's and information on old cars and bikes
life sure is hard sometimes.
