Every year had a basic model. All the chrome and accessories were Sport or Deluxe packages or dealer add ons. The Utility groups were primarily Police or commercial units with no spotlights, crashbars, etc. Most had minimal chrome and plain finishes. 1945 and '46 are pretty plain, chrome was in short supply at the end of the war so even the tank emblems are painted rather than chrome. 1941 and '42 models had the most available chrome but could also be had very plain. 1943 models are almost non-existent and 1944s are rare. Pre-war models are the most sought after these days and hard to find.

War production machines 1943/'44/early 1945 have no chrome at all. The only shiny thing on them is the stainless trim on the gas tank.
