Any H-D parts guys here?

Postby Chris Haynes on Sun Feb 07, 2010 7:22 pm

I am trying to order a 99459-47 catalogue rack. A friend just gave me a new one in a new box that he ordered from his local dealer in Elk Grove, CA, which is now out of business. The teen aged kid working the parts counter at my dealership says anything with a -47 part number is obsolete and can't be ordered.
Any help is appreciated.

Chris
I know that kids dad,he worked in a BSA dealers here.We used to go in and ask for a valve guide for a Bantam (2 stroke) and try and keep a straight face while he searched the parts book.

He's talking rubbish,I've just bought rim tapes for a 1999 RK 43147-40 from my local dealer.
They're dated April 06.

You have a PM.

Chris, if a former H-D parts guy will do...
I just checked this with my former employer as i recall these were available just a few years ago, but as it turns out
they are in fact obsolete now.

Same reply from Nth Cal,so it's not just a Europe thing.
Like everyone else, the dealers seem to use screens now,so the stands aren't required.
