One-wire Delco Alternator

Anyone had experience with converting a Servi from the earlier-style Delco alternator to the later "One Wire" type w/internal regulator? This is on a '68. (I did this on my '67 Vette about ten years ago and, as I recall, it was very simple, buts that's all I remember about it.)

Yea, I been running a 1 wire old GM alt on my '73 Servi for several yrs now..I can jump-start a truck..

All you need is get all the related oem wiring safely removed, or out of the way...

& a single 10 guage piece of insulated wire, connect it to alt & pos batt.. No more headaches.

Anyone know the function of the "Resistor and Diode Assembly" in the electrical system? The p/n changed from a -65 to a -71 when the Servi went to the internal regulator alternator. Also shows connected differently in the wiring diagrams. Don't know if this needs changed to the later one or can just be ignored.
