Re: 1956 KH project
Thanks for the comments Pa, but the credit for the nice finishing work must go to mostly others...all I did was just spend copious amounts of time searching to try and start with as decent parts as I could find on a limited budget.
Yet another mockup, assembled with various wheels and bars to get it down off the lift...

Got the front brake hooked up, mounted the footpegs, and put the pipes back on temporarily today.
Getting closer...

Re: 1956 KH project
More progress thanks to some great help.
Engine fired up for the first time ever today! Sounds strong, and very solid through those KR-style pipes.
Still some work to be done, but today was a big milestone for this project!
Note the fenders are not on properly yet, and it's still a mix and match of parts for the time being...

Re: 1956 KH project
Great work Simon! What colo(u)r did you decide on? I think I like your green idea, army K style : unique – tough. You don't see it much on these. I'm doing matt black, my KH was always white so going dark for a change... ah matt balck there's no easier paint job to do...
Oh yeah... clamps for the drag pipes, did you make 'em or can you buy them? Any leads?
Send more pics,
Best Nick.

Re: 1956 KH project
Nick, I'm starting to go all 50s "Enthusiast" on this bike now...
Re: 1956 KH project
Nick, those are stock clamps - you can buy them reproduction. I feel certain I'm going to be messing with the clamps before it's done. I'm going to go back to the other reddish orange rear fender and will prep it for paint. Colour still undecided.
Re: 1956 KH project
A quick update on the KH: changed out the swingarm bearings and swapped over to the earlier short swingarm. Mounted a horseshoe oil tank.
