It has to be. The seller states that it has engine no. 52kxxxx.

It's an electric start sportster engine...so the n°s are not for that engine!

I am afraid more than just the lineage of this fine machine may be in question. Other than the rear brake, which untouchably could be off a K model of some kind, from one of the many years of production. It does posses the '71 series primary cover, and clutch, with the advantage of a '70 and earlier worm drive clutch cover on the other side. This may come in handy, for some reason, which I am unable to perceive at this time. It does resemble a lot of years of fine Harley breeding though, and would be a good project for Trivial Pursuit.

It still may eat less oil per month than my KH. Though I still would bet that the KH gets more mile to at quart, though the KH may burn it more efficiently than this one leaks it.

Back in '69 I had an electric start, overhead valve 52 K Model. It was simple. I had a set of blown up K cases and I simply ordered new cases with those numbers on them.
