KR pistons

Looking for a set of LATE KR pistons('68-'69,with the dome),if not a set of pistons,I would like a set of diagrams/sketches/blueprints. Looking to have several sets made up. STROKER

XLR,check your private mail,your e-mail isn't working???? What about a phone#??? Also do you have any info on modifying a set of WL heads to run the late KR pistons?????? TIA STROKER

Just a guess, but the dome height of the late KR is about 7/16", and this may weaken a 45 head too much - not enough metal in the deck.

very true. i have done couple set k heads but never 45. should check thickness. maby u could do heads little and for rest make head gasket. obrain told me once lot of work for 3 hp. was manily done for daytona. for top end.

If you have a stroked motor (where chamber volume is small) a spacer could be made like a thick gasket with part of the dome contour in it, and the remainder in the 45 head (#5 = more metal).
One of these days I'll drill right through a #5 in the quench area to see how thick it is; I'd like 3/16" minimum after any mods and that still may not be enough.

panic true. say if u have friend with machine shop. u can use drop indactor to measure with out drilling. i made a set of jaws that fit on dial calipers. that i use to check heads.

PANIC,thanks for the suggestion;the head gasket=this is a friend of mine's bike,a '41 WLDR. The cases have been replaced,due to a cracked left case,due to cracked flywheels. While we are rebuilding the engine (again) we were wanting to pump some HP into it. Several sets of #6 heads are available to use,came with the bike. XLR,thanks for the info;still trying to e-mail. XR-750'S use cylinder shims under the cylinder to equalize deck height;these could be easily made to fit K/WL,possibly out of 16 ga. sheet metal. Just guessing,you could probably make shims up to .060" thick without effecting manifold fit. This would alleviate some of the cylinder head clearancing as discussed. BREWSKI
