1956 k front end

i'm looking for some front end parts to my 56 k. mainly the fork tubes and lower legs. i understand that there are two sizes that are 1 inch different from the other. 1952 to 1955 were one length and 1956 was the odd year that is different. can some help me find out if the '56 was longer or shorter. since the neck of the "one year only" frame is one inch taller, it would make sence to me that the fork tube would be shorter. any info would be appreciated...

I don't remember any neck change but i do know they had two different angled bottom trees to add or take away trail. Mind you it's 15 years since iv'e had my '56 KH.
