Intake valve

Does anybody know if the part #18071-41R ,a 1.875 diameter valve as sold by KNS is 5.875 in length ? Any help wouid be appreciated, Thanks.

Are you sure of this number? My parts books say it should be 18070-41R...

That's the intake that was only fitted one year on the 53 KK. For some reason, the end is slightly waisted to be used with the race valve keeper 18220-53R, but it fits on the std guides and std keeper/retainers will fit. I had these valves on my long gone KK...

These valves are the same lenght as on KH, 141mm, only 5.551in.

Patrick,I am looking for intake and exhaust valves for the tall 1956 KH cylinders and it appears that I need Valves that are 5.875'' long.It looks like part #18080-54,will work for my exhaust,and that part #18070-54 will work for my intake with a head diameter of 1.8125 but I was wanting to increase the intake head size to 1.875 and thought I could use the KNS #18071-41R which was indicated to be useable for all 45 and K models.I don't understand how the shorter valve stem length of 5.59 could be used in a cylinder that is 3/8'' taller than the 45 or the shorter 1952 K model.I did not see the lenth of the valve noted within the descripition provided by KNS for their part #18071-41R.It may be possible to the use the aforementioned valve from KNS by extending the adusting screw but at this point I am considering to have Manley to just make me some valves to my speciications.Well, Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond to my question,any thoughts on the subject are appreciated.

KNS can supply a long valve for the KH - you just have to ask, but he's out of town until April 17th.

My original KH valves in my KHK were the same lenght as the R ones in my KK, which makes sense since they both use the same spring lenght and as you say, the screw is long enough to cope!!! They just vary slightly in diameter, KH inlet = K inlet plus 1mm (47mm vs 46mm), KH exhaust = K exhaust minus 1mm (44mm vs 45mm).
