K Stroker Pistons

Can anyone tell me if there is a manufacturer making stroker pistons for K-models? Project is actually a wl/k with T&O stroker wheels. Thanks.

In order to save money I made stroker plates with stock K Model pistons. The use of stroker plates allowed me to machine my plates as needed to get the .035 piston to head clearance per the KR specs. If you use stock pistons you will also have to trim the bottom of the piston skirt for flywheel clearance . As usual there are several ways to approach this . Check the archives for other piston manufactures and good luck on your project .

I don't know all the specific dimensions off hand, but I do know that I used 45 pistons in Frankie. There the stroke was 4 13/16" with KH cylinders. The pistons had slight pop up as they should working with K heads.
With shorter strokes, the 45 pistons would come up short of the heads with KH cylinders, but I don't know off hand just how much.

I had thought of making stroker plates, and I like that it would be easy to fine tune the amount of pop up and clearance. How much trouble did you run into making the intake manifold fit, if any?

In reference to the intake manifold , I just took a piece of tubing that was close in size to the manifold ,measured the o.d. and i.d. of my existing manifold ,chucked the tubing in the lathe and turned the tubing down to match my manifold ,Then I cut two pieces and welded them to the old intake manifold . Last ,was a grinding and polishing until I had the fit up I needed . Just take your time and you can do it . By the way ,depending on whether you use tall or short K Model cylinders may determine if this step is even needed , it's all a case by case situation . You might even want to consider using O Rings but with all the problems I have heard caused by modern gas eating O Rings I think the use of the old screw type manifold nuts with the new Peek seals (which you can get from Bruce at Enfield Racing ) may be the ultimate solution derived from the combination of new and old technology . Thanks for the insight. I have a set of Bruce's seals. I'm a big fan of all of his stuff. Just saving for a set of his KHK lobes and my shopping there is done. I suppose making a manifold work wouldn't tax my abilities too much, I just was a little hesitant. Any trouble with leakage, or maybe cylinder movement using the stroker plates?

KHs are already strokers from the factory and use stock pistons. Use KH cylinders and you do not need plates of any kind. They are 4-9/16ths stroke. You can use T&O 4-5/8ths wheels and it all works fine as long as head to piston clearance is checked.

That's what I thought. It's a early K rear cylinder, not a KH.

No problem with the stroker plates,just take your time and check your dimensions. Here is a little inspiration . It was a lot cheaper to use the cheaper short older K Model cylinders than to find the newer tall cylinders .Essentially I was just using what I had
