WOW !! Got to be some power in that for sure ! The frame tube beneath the fuel tank looks bowed from the engine weight. Pa

How does he cool it ? No water pump and the water jacket ports are linked together.

Pa!

I would guess that was one of the "field conversion" frames mentioned in literature, where the spine was massaged with a maul to increase the rake.

Probably a 265? Canister oil filter engine? Gotta admire guys who just jumped in and "did it", no matter whether it should have been done or not.... Yeah John, quite the sprocket, maybe he also removed the wheel and used it on the farm as a buzz saw!

Re: FASTEST Harley EVER ....

Heads look like later that that. This looks like ones that the alternator and other brackets bolted directly to the head. Must be later than 1967. Valve covers look like older. No PVC system. Looks like a 3 two's intake with the middle carberator hole blocked off.

Potter again, same sort of "scaling", but with Allison airplane engine...

I believe Potter's V8 bike already had telescopic forks by the time he was doing the drag strips in 65, that photo above is obviously anterior and could be termed 1st draft??

Re: FASTEST Harley EVER ....

Notice the starter, it was direct drive,it was started on a rear stand and dropped to the ground for a running start. The heads are for a '68 and later SBC,the cannister oil filter is pre'67,the valve covers are pre-'63. STROKER

Re: FASTEST Harley EVER ....

I would think push starting it would be almost quite impossible unless Big Bertha [ one of the butt sisters] was onboard with him. LOL

Re: FASTEST Harley EVER ....

Once dropped to the ground, he would burn the rear tire almost the length of the track and still run 140-150mph. I wonder how many times he went down in his career.

Looks like a "curio" to me, is that an exhaust system or just upper motor mounts? Marv Jorgenson would be proud!...Mike
