If any of you have a 60's or early 70's drum brake rim handy could you please tell me how wide it is from the primary side of the hub to the outside of the brake backing plate where the axle comes through?I'd be a big help for something i'm trying to figure out.My sporty manual doesn't say,or i can't find thanks...............

RUBONE ,
Thank you very much,i'm about 60 miles from some of my parts. The rear brake assembly being one of them.If you wouldn't mind refreshing my memory they used a 5/8" axle correct? Thanks a million for the help.............

The total width I am getting from edge of hub to out side of backing plate is 6 9/16 inches. The axle is not 5/8 but is 17mm which is the id of the bearings. Measures about .668, 5/8ths is .625.
