Starter housing

I am working on an 81 FLT with a broken starter housing. The HD parts manual lists #31497-81 or #31532-81 as the correct part for this application. They appear to both be made of unobtainium. Is there another housing that will work in this application? The bike is not stock and this is not a restoration project.
