Gasline Fitting Sizes

Anybody know what the thread is on a later 50's (58 59) Panhead shutoff valve and filter is? Size and pitch. Also if they used a compression fitting (brass ferule or rubber) or something else to make the seal.

They used a rubber seal and the thread is "1/2 24

1/2" sounds a tad large. Are you sure it's not 5/16", 3/8" or 7/16"?

Are you talking about the thread in the tank? I am looking for the thread on the shutoff and the filter for the gas line.

Yes I understood your question and yes the thread on the fuelfilter and shutoff is 0,493" outside...iff I'm not 99% sure I keep my mouth closed and here it's 100%.
