Howdy is there any chance of S&S making replacement pan cylinders like the original ones in the future??? Man I sure hope so!
Re: Replacement pan cylinders?
Me too...
But at the moment, I am still searching, and hoping to find a low bore size original set.

Re: Replacement pan cylinders?
We would sure like to, they are on my list, and i have a set ready for reverse engineering. But like most companies strong enough to survive in this economy, resources (people and cash) have to be directed where they can benefit the company the most. The vintage line is improtant to S&S, but it is a small portion of the overall buisness so we have to wait our turn for resources.

Re: Replacement pan cylinders?
Eric,
Thanks for the info.
I also have one comment:
About the only place that I see anything made that Proudly States where it is made says:
In bold letters:
MADE IN GERMANY.
Since I'm seeing that a lot lately..........I started looking at tags......for source.
NOT ONE.....yep your right.... Not One (1) have I been able to find that says:
Made in the USA.
Sad state we have became, for money.

Re: Replacement pan cylinders?
George,
Where we can, we cast MADE IN USA on all of our castings. The trick with the vintage market is that the castings have to look just like the originals, so we often put the markings on the inside if possible so it dosen't deter from the original look. If there isn't a good place to put it like our UL and KN cylinders, we may have to leave it off. Rest assured that ALL of our S&S/FHP specifically designed castings (heads, cylinders, cases, gear covers etc) are made in the US, in fact most of them are made right here in WISCONSIN. Now when we buy "off the shelf" items, it's is hard to determine or control where they come from, but we do our best to keep our dollars here in the states. We/I truly believe the phrase "Buy American, the job you save may be your own!"
Thanks!

I don't care if a part was made on the Far Side of the Moon,
as long as it is quality.
