Throttle cable to Super E

I'm fitting a S&S Super E (nothing against Linkerts, it's just for fuel economy). Has anyone connected one up using the solid inner wire rather than a bowden cable? I have a pull spiral. I prefer the solid wire, less chance of snapping.

Re: Throttle cable to Super E

Yes you can but, there is always a but. The linkage on the carb has to be removed and modified. The cable disk needs a hole drilled to accept the anchor for the cable. and you have to keep it close to the arc for full motion. The accelerator pump was a prob with my "push" cable so was adjusted to "not working". Your "pull" cable should not have this issue. The "return" spring was removed for the same reason. Again not an issue for you. So why not add a linkage set up like Exile cycles instead of messing with all this on the carb? They have an internal throttle cable to a "E" carb and it works. Just a thought. Steve
