I bought some .105" pins to measure my BTFH cams and the numbers I got were a little off from the numbers that the Machinery's Handbook said they should measure. I looked up the formula for pin size and discovered that the correct pin size for these gears is .108". The formula is 1.728 divided by Diametral Pitch (16 in this case). When using the correct pins, I got measurements that were very close to Handbook numbers. I also set up a UL case on the mill and dialed in the cam bushing hole locations. They dialed in at .002" to .003" off of the nominal center to center distance, which is just the amount recommended for proper gear lash.
