front wheel stand for 1944 U

I need a front wheel stand for my 1944 u model.I believe the correct stand for this year had a bracket or clamp on the the rear rod that bolted to the front fender to hold the stand up.Does any body know what the part # of that bracket or clamp is?

The "U" shaped angle iron was replaced by the stamped stand in 1943. The catch is the same part used on civilian bikes through at least 1954.

Never seen a part number for that clamp.
New stands would always include the clamp to replace the earlier style stand.
Hope this helps:

Pa !
be careful ! the stand on the pic you posted is NOT a big twin or WLC stand !
i don't know about the partnumbers , but what i see on the drawing is a 1941 WL front stand !

this is an early 1941 WL ( S.A.D )
"early" because of the short forks ....
"late" one has the long forks .

ya can see the font stand + the tubular luggage rack .

Re: front wheel stand for 1944 U

Yes , Kurt !
i just visited your website about this subject on this morning and fond the two "NEW" stands ...
really good stuff !!!! i think you sure will sell a lot ! last year , i have searched and searched all around the earth to finally find an ol'one for my 42 ELC ....i will not tell you the horrible price  i paid for ....

why don't you add the tubular 1941 WL luggage carryer to your products ????
and also the 43 WLC blackout headlamp shroud ?

these are also parts you sure will sell a lot .

( anyway : your stuff is becoming best and best . really !!! )

Re: front wheel stand for 1944 U

Thanks Fran-6 for the Kudos........but I wasn't fishing for that.....it's always good to hear one though.

I was pointing out the part number compared to the one Pa has. His is the BT part number according to my books, but I can only find the late part number for the 45 WL/WLA stand as 49301-40
Is the 45 front stand early part number 3001-40?

This is one of those items that carried the same part number, but H-D changed the part.

As far as the luggage carrier, I thought someone already was producing a nice one.........no?
