new cases

i notice h-d aftermarket is selling cases with no numbers on the left side engine boss.what can a buyer legally put on the naked boss plate.can i put the numbers of my legally owned 41 cases.no titles givin on old bikes up here in nh.

Legally?
Nothing.

Most States require that the original left case be surrendered before the replacements are stamped under the auspices of the authorities.
(That means you can't do it yourself, unless The Man hands you the stamps and hammer.)
