need info on after market flathead frame.

i have a 41 U flathead, want to build a bare bones bobber over the winter.need frame,am i right,if it fits a knuckle it will fit a flattie.all other frames will fit if motor mount adapter plate is used.dont want to spend $2500 on a v-twin frame.its in a paughco frame now.if any frame fits i would buy a roller and just drop the motor and tranny in it.

The motor will fit in all HD ridgid frames. The Knuckle and Flattie used the same frame up to and including 1947. You will need to shim the front motor mount if you use a panhead frame. I have read of problems with the Vtwin frame. Do a search on the site and you should be able to find the posting.

Patch,

Good luck finding an uncut BT frame for less than $2500 ... If you can settle for an old shaved chopper frame, you should be able to save about half, I would guess.
