Panman what happens when you don't put a fluttervalve...oil will come running out off the breather of the cover.
But what you are discribing seems more like the returnpump that needs to be timed, imo.

Fran-6 maybe at the frontvalvecover first...because the gasket is in less condition...
Maybe a sheared returnpump gear key...
But I don't see where the broken valvespring is going to get oil to pump out!

First thing I would check is the condition of the gaskets and the leaking valve cover. That everything is as meant to be. Straight, and gaskets where they shold be and that they seat correctly. Often I have seen bent upper covers, wich will lead to leaking...
