1939 UL that I just finished a few weeks ago

Long as I am in the picture mood here are pictures of my last restoration - a nice 1939 UL.

Mostly original but repop = primary, headlite. taillite, tool box, seat, air scoop, fender trim, exhaust, rear chain guard and probably a few more things.

Front fender is later 40's and was NOS.

And yes it has the original 1,2,N,3,4 tranny and that is going to be another post.

is that not a el air scoop mounted incorrectly?

That air scoop might be wrong but if you look it is actually an OHV one. I also have an old Enthusiast that shows it in this manner. My factory literature shows a mirror image one the way it is supposed to be.

I actually ordered the SV one but Ted sent me this one one and I decided to live with it. What is neat is that the end of the air scoop contours perfectly with the top of the primary cover as if it was meant,

nice job Jerry...we live right across the lake from each other..we oughta meet sometime...do you ever get to Advanced Cycle Machining in Superior? Phil's been building some WLDR strokers lately...I would trailer my 45 over that way next summer just to have somebody to ride with...highway 61 isn't really safe to ride a 45 on alone...and my buddies with EVO's just leave me in the dust.... I believe that unless you have a really special, original machine to start with or want to have the bike score well in judged shows you have should make the bike look like you want it to look. Does she ride as nicely as she looks ?

I'm hoping to finish mine in the next week or so. This is the start of some great riding weather here in Tucson so I'm on a tear. I'll try to share pics as well.

Cool Flatty now you will have to hook up with Randal The Vandal and terrorize the Wisconsin countryside ! I haven't seen him in a coons age but I expect that he still has his ULH.

I'd be willing to bet that Jerry could be talked into riding his UL to the Knucklehead Reunion next year. That way you would have Flathead Company at the Knucklehead Company party !
