Have bought a 38 bigtwin help...
Have just read about Eurohenry and his WLC -42 and I am impressed about the knowledge and the interesst in this forum.
I have done the same thing as Eurohenry but I have bought a U -38 with sidecar ....yes the one on http://georgesantiquemotorcycletrader.com/...
...i did this last fall but I have not had the guts to say hello untill I have read Eurohenrys storry to the end!
I have studied the Palmer Book, Service manuals and spare part catalog etc and the bike seems to be quite in original shape.
And now to the questions....
1: What is the technical diffrence on the M-88 and M-51?
I have a M-88 on the bike and it runs great but how can I see if it is rebuilt from the fixed jet system, I can not feel/see any diffrence when I am driving with my bike and turning on the highspeed needle...
2: Is there any who knows where I can find a Repro speedo face for the 1938 speedo yes in KM/h.
Otherwise I am a 35yr old lucky guy that has just been driving 200 miles during this summer with my teakred 1938 U both with and without sidecar (some technical issues/reastaurations ofcourse but no lost wheels or so).
