As long as the rings are iron, won't they seat against just about anything...rings seem to seat fine on/against nikasil. ? I have not heard of ceramics being used on a cylinder bore...? Is that ever done?

There are two separate processes being discussed here as using nikasil can result in a smaller than existing bore size where the carbide impregnation boring process offered by Boretech clearly does not. I don't believe it would be applicable to aluminum but it does improve durability of ferrous bores.
