getting off the original topic a bit, but...
I bought T&O wheels and the stroker pistons to match, plus WL rods, crankpins and all bearings from 45 Depot, so all new parts which ( hopefully ) should all fit together. I do have a couple of pairs of NOS pistons in various oversizes.
I wanted to minimize workshop time, and simplify building instructions as far as possible so I could use an established vintage racing engine builder rather than a "Harley Specialist" - this being the UK where such people are rare, at best - and since I'm building a reliable street engine, not a racer, I decided to keep the oil baffles.
no #1 engine has ended up having a good clean up plus new #6 heads and a top end strip-and-reassemble, since much of the work appeared to have been done a while ago. That's the engine in the bike right now. It has an Amal carb and will ( probably ) have 45 Depot electronic ignition.
Bike has a 4-speed gearbox and belt drive. Exhaust is a one-off, two-into-one, based on a suggestion in the Victory book using 45 front pipes mated to a panhead y-piece and silencer. All-up weight will be about 370lb and overall gearing will be about 20% higher than a stock 45, so I'm hoping for a genuine 75 mph and comfortable 65mph cruising.
engine no #2, different story, still under development....
