A part number, or a casting number?
Are you trying to find one on a list, or identify one by photo or description?

All VL rods, and only VL rods, have "SA" in raised letters on the beam. Length on centers 7.90625", female width 1-3/4", big end ID 1-1/2".

Others:
45 UA
OHV big twin XA
UL ZA
K, KH, Sportster 1952-85 (except XR1000) -52
XR1000, Evo Sportster -83

Are these hard to come by? I have researched for an aftermarket company that makes them with no luck. I guess NOS will be it. Thanks, Red

They show up on eBay, but you can't limit the search to VL - sometimes mis-identified as UL, 45, OHV.

For all that care i was able to procure three sets of VL connecting rods. One looks to be brand new. Thanks for the info. I have Steve Slocombes book on order so I will stop asking for part numbers once I receive it.
