S&S provides high quality pinion gears for 1986-'87 Harley-Davidson® Sportster® models. These gears can be used for stock replacement, but more importantly are required for use with S&S pinion shafts used in S&S flywheel assemblies for all 1986-'03 Sportster models. These are splined style pinion shafts, as S&S does not produce a 1988 and later stock style keyed pinion shaft. Experience has shown that the keyed design is not as strong, and that the splined pinion shafts are preferable for high performance applications. White color code pinion gears measure 1.2746-1.2749" over .108" pins.
